One for the World at UW-Madison seeks to reduce needlessly wasted lives by educating members on effective global aid and its importance, encouraging members to take the 1% pledge. We also hope to create a friendly community to develop social connections and friendships while helping members develop leadership and professional skills.

The 1% pledge is a commitment to donate 1% of your lifelong income to high-impact charities. Here's an important point: You can commit now, but you can pay later ! Your money will be distributed between four highly effective charities, which were vetted by Givewell

  2. This charity distributes preventive antimalarial drugs to children 3-59 months old to prevent illness and death from malaria during peak malaria transmission season, at $7 per treatment

  6. The Helen Keller Internationals Vitamin A Supplementation Program prevents childhood blindness and death at only $1 per Vitamin A supplement

  8. Against Malaria Fondation distributes and monitors antimalarial bed nets at a total cost of $2 per net
